Basic protective gear like a helmet, knee / wrist wraps should be compulsory for everyone up to the age of 18. If there's an accident & that person is not wearing any protective gear, it's the parents who fork out the money for recovery and rehabilitation. Not to mention the piont that Lizzie made about her friend having a potentially different life. Lots of boys have no fear & that makes them do really dangerous stuff while their showing off to their mates / girlfriend. Definitely should be compulsory!

saftey gear in my opinon should be worn, but at the same people shouldn't push it .It's one's own choice not to put gear on and do what they want, or if you go in something like a suite of armour. My point is i think it's important, but not really an issue.

Yes I think protective gear should be. I had a friend that was a bike rider and was in the city riding his bike home from his job and it wasn't his fault and was knocked off his bike and hit his temple on the gutter and is now in a wheel chair. If he had his helmet on it would have been a different life for him now.
