Alexandra Scout Group Cubs & Scouts

Scouting in Alexandra is Adventurous, Fun, Thrilling and Exciting for boys, girls, young people and adults

Scouting is alive and well, and there is ample opportunity to participate

•    Age 6 and upwards
•    Teenagers and young adults
•    Both males and females
•    Fantastic value and great fun
•    Adults can help (as leaders, or behind the scenes in varying capacities)

What is Scouting?

•    A worldwide organisation with a huge network of contacts and opportunities
•    Fun, adventure, excitement, challenge,
outdoor activities
•    For young people aged 6 to 25
•    The adult Leaders have lots of fun as well
•    Cubs, Scouts & Venturers develop leadership skills in small groups with appropriate supervision - to set them up for a better future
•    The 18 to 25 year old  young adults in the Rover Section run themselves with their own democratic reporting through to the Australian National HQ
•    Develop self-reliance, initiative and responsibility
•    Scouting opens doors to a huge range of activities and opportunities that would otherwise be too hard or too expensive
•    Other family members can get involved too

What’s in it for me?

•    Scout members have access to a variety of camping grounds and facilities, including specialised equipment
•    You don’t need to buy your own gear to go:
canoeing, sailing, rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering, flying or skiing
•    Specialist instructors are available to help you learn properly and participate safely
•    In some cases, you can undertake specialist training to become a qualified instructor yourself

Adult men and women

•    All leaders require Police clearance and Working With Children clearance
•    Help the youth members to develop and grow into responsible and valuable citizens
•    No prior training necessary – we train you!
•    Professionally managed training leading to higher qualifications

Adult helpers

•    Great opportunities for men and women, guardians, mums and dads
•    Help behind the scenes
•    Do something you enjoy and develop some extra skills
•    Meet new friends
•    Don’t let your children have all the fun on their own!
